Season draws in for AHS
29/09/2005
The weather is getting worse, the nights longer it must mean the racing season is nearly over once again for Lutterworths AHS racing team. The Formula Vee championship only has one round remaining at Snetterton in Norfolk, where the championship began on a damp early March day.
The last meeting at Cadwell Park went well for some members ofthe AHS team, Steve Ough steering his Challenger into 6th in the first race, and Neale Hurran delighted to get one over on his arch rival and AHS teammate Rich Honick.
The second race saw Daniel Hands bring the AHS customer scheme run Leastone home in 5th place just ahead of championship points rival John Hughes in his similar car.
Hurran''s Challenger once again got the better of Honick''s AHS customer Sheane.
However on Sunday Honick would turn the tables on Hurran, beating the Challenger driver in both races, Steve Ough performed well as usual coming home 4th in the days first race.
But in the weekends final race Daniel Hands beat John Hughes to move into fourth place in the title fight and become AHS top points scorer. However Hughes will be keen to redress the balance at Snetterton, with just en points separating the pair the battle for fourth is not over, and the two young AHS stars will be going for it.
And plenty of excitement is guaranteed from Honick and Hurran Snetterton, remember that these two managed to crash into each other there at the beginning of the season. Whatever else the two H''s seem to love racing vees - especially each others!
