First Race
21/03/2009

The first race is over and the cement dust has settled.

Paul Smith had a great first race in the all new Dominator and finished in third place with an engine miss fire, with this result under our belts we set forth to find the cause of the engine miss fire, but were unable to identifie the problem so it was decided to bring the car back to the workshop and put it on the rolling road. After a few runs we found the problem which was cement dust from the track put down to soak up an oil spill early that day had restricted a fuel way with in the carb with this cleaned out the car appeared well. We got up bright and early and set off back to Snetterton. At the start of the race the car shot forwards and made good progress, but that was short lived the car slowed and pulled into the pits with another carb fault, Unfortunatly this time the book stops here and due to my poor attention to detail late on Saturday night I had forgotten to retighten the float bowl fully and it had started to leak fuel!!!!!!!!. I must have said that word SORRY a hundred times but I still feel like s...t.

Better luck fell to Tom Kemp with second in the B Championship in the first race but a broken rotor arm put pay to a second trophy on sunday. David Hodkin had an eventfull weekend and managed his first race finish in Vee, this guy is my tip to get a top six finish within the first half of the season, that should put the kiss of death on that. Steve Ough saw his new Dominator for the first time and finished both rounds a few mods and adjustments for Coomb and may be another good result will follow shortly.
